What is Equine Facilitated wellness?

Equine facilitated wellness is a hands-on experience. We partner you with horses to facilitate the development of tools and strategies to make healthy choices, gain empathy, and discover meaningful relationships. Learning takes place through interactive activities which allow participants to practice healthy communication, problem solving skills, personal and social responsibility, and to connect with the world around them.  Our programs promote self-awareness, personal growth and learning as well as healing.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM MORGEN’S MEADOWS?

It is ideal for all individuals desiring a positive change in their lives.  Morgen's Meadows serves all ages 7-adult.  We offer programs for individuals with Attention Deficit, Trauma Based Challenges, Aspergers, and Developmental Disabilities.  Programs are specifically tailored to focus on the needs of the individual or group. Why horses?

Horses are responsive animals that connect with the people around them.  They provide immediate feedback to our actions and body language without judgment.  They do not care about gender, ethnicity or social status. Just like humans horses are social animals with defined roles.  Horses provide powerful opportunities for reflection into your roles in life.

Do we ride the horses?

No.  The experience involves hands-on activities from the ground.

What age groups do you serve?

  • Elementary 7-8

  • Intermediate 9-12

  • Junior 13-16

  • Young Adults 17+

Do you conduct workshops or staff development?

Yes.  If you are looking for a unique learning experience to address workplace topics such as improving team performance, healthy communication, and problem solving skills; there is no better venue than an arena filled with compassionate horses.  For more information, please contact us.

I have never been around horses, is that a problem?

No horse experience is needed.  We provide a non-threatening environment where you choose your interactions.

What should I wear for a session?

Something that is allowed to get dirty!  Jeans and a tee shirt or sweatshirt is the most commonly worn outfit.  Closed-toe shoes are required footwear.  We do not recommend wearing loose jewelry around the horses. They are curious animals.

What if it rains?

We have several areas for learning; pastures, paddocks, outdoor round pen, and indoor space for inclement weather.

What is the pricing of a session?

Prices are based on individual client needs.  Please contact us for specific pricing details.
